Yappbox Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Yappbox is a chat app made by a kid, for kids and their friends and families. This page explains, honestly and in plain language, what information Yappbox collects and what happens to it.

What we collect

How we use it

Only to run the app: showing your messages to the right people, letting your guardian approve your account or a Short you posted, sending you notifications, and letting your guardian view your friend list for safety. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

A few outside companies help run Yappbox behind the scenes, and they only process data on our behalf - they don't get to use it for their own purposes:

Otherwise, the only other person who can see your info is your own parent or guardian, who can see your friend list and approve your account or Shorts - that's built into the app on purpose, to keep things safe.

Guardian approval and rights

If you're under 18, your account doesn't fully work until your guardian approves it by email. They can also see who you're friends with at any time, and they get emailed whenever you post a new Short so they can review it first.

Deleting your info

You're always in control. Inside the app, under your profile settings, there's a real "Delete My Account" option that permanently removes your account, messages, friend list, Shorts, and everything else tied to it - not just a deactivation, an actual full deletion. A guardian can also email us to request this on a child's behalf.
